Baptism

Here are a few pics from Luke's baptism. It went by in such a blur! We had Luke dressed up in his little suit but he was down to his onesie in no time...it was way too hot in there!! But we were so glad to be surrounded by our friends and family and Luke's godparents Kelly and Mal - what a special moment to share with all of them!

Growth stats

So Luke's two month appointment went really well! He's has grown soooo much and is on his way to catching up to other little boys his age. He weighed 10 lbs, 14 oz (by now has probably slid past the 11 lb mark) and was 22.5 inches long. He is on track with everything else and she had no concerns regarding development. He is unbelievably strong (both in body and spirit :) and is gonna be moving around before we know it!
We also were sent this little t-shirt from Graham and so it is no longer a mystery as to what Luke's future profession will be...How perfect right? that he will become a Dog Show Judge!! :) All I can think of is that movie Best in Show...

2 month old Luke!!

It's Luke's 2 month birthday today!!! :) He is sooo aware, constantly looking around, smiling, and ALMOST giggling. We have his 2 month check up on Friday so we will post later with all the stats.

Baby Shower!

We did make it to Bismarck this weekend before the storm hit (BARELY). I told Mav that I wasn't going to miss another shower!! There were a few people that weren't able to make it but we managed to have a great time. :)
The decorations were adorable and the food and company was so great! I had such a fun time at the shower and was so glad that everyone there could meet Luke!

We are having Luke baptized in Beulah at the end of the month. All friends and family are invited to attend Mass and/or a reception to honor this special moment in Luke's life.

If anyone is traveling and would like/need a place to stay, please let us know and we can help coordinate. Mav and I will still have our house and although it is COMPLETELY empty, it could be used as a back-up plan. :)

Lucas is 1 month old today!

I can't believe it! Luke is 1 month old! I don't know his exact measurements but I know that he has grown sooo much! His little face is filling in and he is about to grow out of his newborn outfits! I took this picture a couple of days ago while he was laying on his changing table. He LOVES to lay up there (usually in the sun) and sprawl out.

It was Luke's two week appointment today (he is 16 days old). I can't believe how much he has grown already!!! I think cause I see him everyday, I didn't realize how much he had grown in just two weeks! He left the hospital exactly two weeks ago weighing 5 lbs, 12 oz. He now weighs 6 lbs, 10 oz. and is 20 inches long!! He has quite the appetite and I swear is getting cuter every day! We went to church this Sunday wearing a cute little outfit (which won't fit him much longer) but didn't get to put on a show as he slept the whole time! :)

Complete and Content

Our final step in adopting Luke was to have the birthparents relinquish their parental rights and turn them over to Mav and me. This usually takes 5 to 7 days after the baby is born. We are ecstatic to say that the birthparents were in court on Thursday and completed this last step!! It is the final final final part of this journey and it is relief to know that he is now and forever OUR SON!!!
He is an angel and Mav and I smile everytime we see his sweet sweet face. We are sooooo thankful for Luke and for the fullness that he brings to our lives!!
