A lumberjack and blackmail photos

For Christmas, my mom bought Lucas this little shirt that Mav and I call his "lumberjack" outfit. It is sooo cute and he looks like a little mountain man! :) AND I can't wait to someday break out these silly little photos involving a little boy who loves to get into EVERYTHING!! Mav called me into the bathroom just so that I could get a good shot of Lucas doing his best to destroy my feminine supplies!! Oh...the embarrassment I will cause with these photos!!! :)

ANOTHER new place to call home

We are off!! Mav has accepted a position in Milbank, SD with Otter Tail and so we will be transfering there mid-March. We have already found a house and have set a closing date for March 15th. Mav is super excited because not only did we find a really nice house, but he now has the man cave of his dreams!! Our new house is on 5 acres, about 1 mile outside of Milbank and includes a 40x60 shop. It will be so nice for Mav to have room for his woodworking tools and for us to have tons (and tons and tons) of extra storage. We are sad to be moving a little farther from some of our family but are really excited to start this journey!

Birthday Boy

We celebrated Lucas's 1st birthday yesterday with tons of family, cake, and presents!! :) Lucas had his first cupcake completely to himself and to our surprise he didn't really seem to like it all that much! He did however manage to make a mess and there sure wasn't a shortage of people feeding him cake, cookies, and other sweets ALL day long! Here are some snapshots from his WordWorld party.

Happy New Year!!

Oh my...what a busy week and a half!!! I can't believe that 2012 is already here! Mav and I and Lucas had a GREAT Christmas, spending the weekend with all my family in Bismarck. Lucas of course received many many new toys, including a dancing Santa from Grandpa and a new laptop from Grandma. He wasn't too interested in opening them but did take a few moments out of his busy-ness to type a few reports (going by his expression, he's up for disgruntled employee of the year). We then went to Williston for a few days to see Mav's family. What a fun but exhausting trip!!! Up next...Lucas's first birthday!!

Thanksgiving and beyond

TA DA!!! Mav finished Lucas's crib a couple of weeks ago and has been on my case about posting a pic....so HERE it is!!! It is a gorgeous piece of furniture! Lucas has already managed to gnaw on four different spots so we've teeth-proofed it with some plastic strips. Silly little monkey...

We spent the Thanksgiving holiday in Fargo at Kelly and Mal's. This pic pretty much is the perfect depiction of our family Thanksgiving...everyone gathered around the table and the kitchen. And of course Thanksgiving wouldn't be complete without the heart of our family, Grandma! :)

A tooth!

Lucas FINALLY has his first tooth! I swear, I think he has been teething for the last 5 months at least! It poked through today sometime and although it doesn't even remotely look like a tooth yet, I can feel a sharp little edge! I couldn't possibly take a pic as I can barely even get in there to check it so thought I would post another pic of my cute little monkey. :)

Halloween: Part 2

We took Lucas Trick-or-Treating to a few houses around the neighborhood tonight. He was actually pretty serious and just hung out and looked cute. We got lots of compliments on his costume...He did really make a CUTE sock monkey!! :) I also had a halloween outfit for him to wear during the day and then to top the evening - skeleton jammies that glowed in the dark!
