OOH LAH LAH!!

So Jess and I threw THE FUNNEST (is that a word??) party last Saturday night. We wanted to have a girls night IN, so we decided to throw a Pure Romance party (for all of you who are curious, you can find it on the web). We knew this would be the perfect chance for us to get together with our girlfriends to hang out, shop, laugh, and eat lots of chocolate!! We decorated super cute with red boas, candles, and some crafty pom-poms we had made the night before. We had a BLAST giggling and enjoying good food and company. Here are some pics of our decorations:

Here is the first pic of the bathroom destruction! I couldn't get in the door very far as Mav had the ladder up but I think this little snapshot says it all!!!

House Remodel number 893,349,590...

Mav and I have been wanting to redo this bathroom (our guest bathroom on the second floor) for awhile now and have finally found the time to start. I haven't done a SINGLE thing to it since we moved in. We are planning to change out the floors, paint the cabinets and woodwork, take off the shower doors, and add some depth/texture to the walls with some trim work and tall chair rail. We keep thinking that this is going to be a "simple" remodel, so I hope we don't have any unexpected surprises!!! Mav has already started ripping the room apart this morning, so I will post pics of the destruction later today.

It's finally done!!

I know right---TWO POSTS IN ONE DAY!!
I am FINALLY finished with my headboard (we had several stapler mishaps during this time!!)!!! Mav and I hung it on the wall last weekend and I really really like it! We have been without a bed set/headboard for months now and it does wonders to make the room look a little more put together. I think that I decided I was going to lower it a bit (a feat Mav says should be easy) and then it will be perfect! I think it was even worth the injury I sustained hanging it up!! I am such a klutz and tripped/slid along the corner of the metal bedframe with my leg and managed to carve out a nice 6 in. chunk of skin from my shin. Not to worry though as it is on the mend and it gives me an excuse to hobble around, not exercise, and make Mav my slave! :)

SO CUTE!

This last Sunday we had some friends over for the Vikings game. The boys watched the game and the girls and I had a really nice visit. The kids were great and had a fun time playing together. Towards the end of the night I put a Netflix movie on for them in the office and this is what we saw when we checked up on them! They were all sitting lined up on the bed, clearly engrossed in the movie!

Las Vegas

Mav and I are headed to Las Vegas tomorrow!!! Mav has another class for work so I am tagging along. And I am sooooo excited because my mom is coming with!! She has never been to Vegas before, so it is going to be fun to experience her first visit with her! We are staying at the Palms, courtesy of Mav's work :) and I think we all decided we wanted to go see LOVE by Cirque du Soleil. It is going to be a fantastic trip!! My mom and I fly back on Wednesday morning (Mav comes home on Friday) and then I am off to visit Jess and family in Devils Lake! I can't wait to see her and the boys!!! It has been way too long!!

Christmas Memories

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Merry Christmas everyone!!! Mav and I had a really great Christmas! We spent the earlier part of the week with his parents and sister and then headed back to Beulah on a very snowy morning. We made it back just in time to enjoy Christmas day and the rest of the weekend with my family and grandma. It has been storming non-stop since we got home and the wind has just been ferocious. We woke up this morning to a snow drift that was overtaking our kitchen window. I took some pictures to show all of you who are enjoying nice, sunny weather! :)

O Christmas Tree!

So when Mav and I moved into this house three years ago, we started with the outside projects first (mainly putting up a fence). In doing so, we discovered that we had a few evergreen trees in our backyard that were either too close our property line or were taking up too much space in our not so big backyard. We decided that in order to justify cutting them down, we would wait until Christmas each year and then cut them down to be used as our Christmas tree. I just had to put a 2008 vs 2009 pic up as last year our tree ended up being about 11 feet tall (that was actually only the top half of the tree we removed from our yard). This year we ended up with a very nice, small to average size tree.

Funny puppy...

Yesterday we got a paper and usually if either one of the puppies get a hold of it, they rip it to shreds. But Mav started throwing it and Duncan would go and fetch it and trot it back to us. It was so funny cause as you can see, the paper is a bit oversized for Duncan!! Then, last night he found a new bed. He loves clean, warm laundry and I had just brought this basket up. He climbed into the basket and then Mav covered him up with laundry. He didn't seem to mind and stayed in his cozy spot for quite a while.
