The Pumpkin Patch!!

This last Friday we took the afternoon off and headed to the Pumpkin Patch in Bismarck. We met Jim and Jess and the boys there for our annual (almost :) Pumpkin Patch visit. It was a beautiful day and we had fun walking around and taking some cute pictures of OUR little pumpkin! :)

This was taken on one of our noon picnics that we took with daddy this summer.

So when Steph and kids came to visit, we ended up spending a day in Bismarck to shop. We stayed at my mom's and Nich happened to be there. Of course he played for us and then let each of the kids (and me) play too!

What a ham!!! I didn't even know Mav was taking a pic but Luke was sure ready and able to smile at the camera!

MILESTONE!! This is the FIRST time that Luke has gotten himself up onto his hands and knees ALL BY HIMSELF! Good timing with the phone camera daddy!

Check out this awesome birthday cake my mom slaved away making for my birthday (29 again...). It was DELICIOUS!

Oh So Sweet Potato Puree

A few days ago I attempted to make my first homemade baby food. I took zucchini from our garden and mixed it with fresh carrots. I was so proud of myself and was so excited to have Luke try it! Two days and five feedings later, I couldn't get the little bugger to eat any of it. Enter my sweet sister Jessie. She bought Luke and me this awesome cookbook called "The Best Homemade Baby Food on the Planet." I tried my first recipe from it tonight (with leftover sweet potato from supper). It was super easy but turned out looking pretty professional. And the best part was that Luke actually seemed to like it!

Me, Lucas, Mav, and the Rain

Here are some pics from the last couple of weeks. I am slowly adding to my collection of pics that are of me and Luke TOGETHER. Seems like I am always the one behind the camera...

We had some major rain here about a week ago (something like 2 inches in a couple of hours?), which made short work of turning our backyard/garden into a swimming pool. The white object in the middle is actually a plastic bucket turned upside down. It had to be about a foot deep out there. Our garden seems to have barely survived so hopefully this won't happen again. Exhibit A:

And I just had to capture this father-son moment on camera (from the front window cause I didn't want to disturb the moment). Mav took Luke outside and they washed the truck "together." SO CUTE!

And of course these last two are just of Lucas being cute and funny. He has been able to roll himself around for about a month now. He managed to roll himself under the chair and actually spent a good amount of time playing with the sticker attached under there. He's so going to keep ME busy.

Photo Booth Fun

So for the FIRST time in my entire life I took a picture in one of those photo booths that you see around malls. It was Mav's idea and I am so glad we tried it! We realized too late that either we were too tall for the machine or we needed to scrunch down a bit but managed to get a few cute ones anyway!

A compilation

I have been derelict in my duties...I know. Here are the other pics I promised like 8 weeks ago, or something like that. Mav and I detoured to the Garrison Dam the last time we headed home to Williston. SOOOO much water and the sound...I couldn't believe how loud the rushing water was! Luke cooperated for Mav's pic, of course, and then decided to look the part of disgruntled baby for my pic. Still cute though (Luke, not me...in case any of you were confused). Also included are just a few of Luke doing his best to look like a little boy and not my little baby!!!

I could not wait to share this picture of my sweet little guy! He is the light of our lives and fills every day with love, laughter, and sunshine. I am working on some more pics but for the moment this should tide you over...
